Background: Dengue fever/Dengue haemorrhagic fever is one of the most important emerging infectious diseases in Vietnam. Recently, detecting NS1 Dengue antigen in patients’ sera has been described as an alternative method for early diagnosis.
Objectives: Evaluating the sensitivity, the specificity, the positive predictive value and the negative predictive value of the Platelia™ Dengue NS1 Ag.
Method: Prospective, description, cross-sectional study Results: The sensitivity, the specificity, the positive predictive value and the negative predictive value are 94.9%, 100%, 100%, 94.44%, respectively. Conclusion: Detecting NS1 Dengue antigen can be used in early Dengue fever and Dengue haemorrhagic fever diagnosis.
